Maunalua Makai Watch Volunteer Job Description
Volunteer Commitment: Flexible, minimum four hours per month for at least one year
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in all sessions of the Maunalua Bay Makai Watch trainings as scheduled.
- Participate in Makai Watch activities on a monthly basis based on plans coordinated with the Maunalua Makai Watch Coordinator.
- Collect data on forms on a regular basis for submission to Mālama Maunalua.
- Maintain at least monthly contact with the Maunalua Makai Watch Coordinator.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Dependability and good judgment
- Ability to follow written and oral directions carefully
- Ability to communicate well with a variety of people
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to be outside with exposure to the sun and inclement weather
- Ability to swim and snorkel in the ocean (if participating in water-based activities)
- Knowledge of the Maunalua Bay area’s culture and history and residence in the region (desirable)
- Access to e-mail and cell phone desirable
- Ability to speak English and other languages fluently desirable
